La Val: hiking village in South Tyrol
A hiking paradise in the heart of a natural Elysium: the Dolomites
In 2015, La Val became the first hiking destination in South Tyrol to boast the "European Hiking Village" certificate. It is the people's energy and their care for the cultural heritage, the rich flora and fauna, the countless well-marked hiking trails, and the unquestioned scenic beauty of the Dolomites that make this village in Alta Badia one of a kind.
The town at the foot of the Sas dla Crusc (Sasso di Sante Croce/Kreuzkofel) offers themed routes that link the main places of interest in La Val. The village meanwhile is the central starting point for reaching the legendary world of Fanes in the Fanes-Senes-Braies UNESCO natural park, passing the Ju de Sant'Antone (Giogo di Sant’Antonio), the peaks of the Sas dles Nü (Cima Nove/Neuner Spitze), Piz dles Diesc (Cima Dieci/Zehner Spitze), and Monte Pares, to name just a few.
And if the many natural sites within walking distance from our hotel aren't enough for you, it's not far to magical places like the Puez-Odle UNESCO Nature Park with the beautiful valley of Antersasc and the Sas de Pütia (Sasso Putia/Peitlerkofel), the evocative Falzarego Pass with the First World War trenches, the lunar plateau of the Sella Group, and lots of other places worth visiting at least once.
In La Val your senses will reawaken and you'll discover the pleasure of experiencing an authentic and unforgettable holiday.
